About Us

The Africa Australia Alliance for Peace and Reconciliation (AAAPR) is a not-for-profit incorporated association, campaigning for peace and for the rights of Africans affected by war. We are based in Newcastle, Australia.

Our objectives are:

1. To partner with existing resettlement services to assist Africans to resettle in Australia and to maintain their sense of cultural identity.
2. To provide the means to empower women towards self sufficiency.
3. To establish links that support education and accommodation promoting peace and reconciliation in the Great Lakes Regions of Africa.
4. To develop African/Australian community networks to assist to create sustainable communities for Africans affected by war.
5. To seek and teach peace and reconciliation for Africans affected by war.

AAAPR meets fortnightly at 6pm at the Hunter Community Environment Center, 167 Parry Street, Hamilton East, 2303.

Vigil to remember African friends killed on 4th October 2011

 

Next Saturday we will gather at the Grainery Church from 14:00-16:00 to remember our fellow African friends, sowers of peace and education supporters, killed by rebels on 4th Oct 11 in the Easter Democratic Republic of Congo.
 
 

 

Launch of AAAPR

On the 18th June we will be holding a night of African food and music at the Croatian club in Wickham. 

The event will celebrate the official launch of the Africa Australia Alliance for Peace and Reconciliation.
